WHAT YOU CAN DO

As an educator, you have tremendous potential to teach and influence hundreds, if not thousands, of young lives to become activists speaking out against modern-day slavery, and who they themselves, may be at risk of human trafficking. Learn how to become an activist and teach your students to do the same!      Below are helpful lesson plans and resources to educate the future generation in your classroom.

START FREEDOM (Stop the Traffik)

If you work with young people, whether you're a teacher, youth worker, community or faith leader, or if you are between 12 and 18 years old and passionate about doing something to prevent the buying and selling of people, then Start Freedom is for you.

Start Freedom is a global anti-trafficking campaign for young people to:

  • Learn what human trafficking is
  • How it affects their life and the lives of others
  • What they can do to combat it

Start Freedom, Stop the Traffik

Developed in partnership with the UN and translated into 10 different languages, Start Freedom resources are free to download and use.

The resources will give you everything you need to run Start Freedom with young people in your school or youth group with either 12-14 year olds or 15-18 year olds. Helping young people to understand what human trafficking is, how it affects their lives and what they can do to combat it.

All you need to do is:

Lessons include:

  • What is human trafficking?
  • How can equal opportunities for women and girls reduce the risk of trafficking?
  • How can what you buy have an effect on trafficking for forced labour?
